Cauldron

Cauldron

Purpose

Symbol of transformation, the womb of the Goddess, and manifestation. Used for burning, brewing, scrying, and transformative magic.

Description

Three-legged pot traditionally made of cast iron, though copper, brass, or ceramic versions exist. Size ranges from small personal cauldrons (4-6 inches) to large ceremonial ones. Black is traditional but other colors are used.

Usage Notes

Use for safely burning petitions, herbs, or incense. Brew magical teas, potions, or ritual foods. Fill with water for scrying. Season cast iron cauldrons. Can represent all four elements: the iron is earth, fire burns within, water or air fills it, and steam rises.
